"Seeing Angkor Wat at sunrise was a lifelong dream and this trip made it effortless. The Mekong boat crossing into Cambodia was an adventure, and finishing in Ha Long Bay was the perfect way to wind down. Two countries, zero stress."

Morning at the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum. Afternoon cyclo ride through Cholon's lantern-strung alleys. Evening food tour through District 4, featuring banh xeo pancakes, grilled pork skewers and sugarcane juice from the street carts.

Drive to Ben Tre and board a sampan. Navigate narrow palm-fringed canals, stop at a coconut candy workshop and share lunch with a family on their island. Overnight at a riverside lodge, with a private dinner on the terrace.

Morning boat ride through backwater channels, then transfer to Chau Doc near the Cambodian border. Board a speedboat up the Mekong to Phnom Penh (4 hours). Watch the landscape shift from Vietnamese paddies to Cambodian sugar palms. Check into your riverfront hotel.

Morning tour of the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, with gilded spires, emerald Buddhas and the Throne Hall. Afternoon visit to the Tuol Sleng museum and the Russian Market for silk scarves and silver. Evening tuk-tuk ride along the Tonle Sap riverfront as the city lights up.

Short flight to Siem Reap (45 minutes). Settle into your boutique hotel near the Old Market. Afternoon at Angkor National Museum for context before the temples. Evening dinner on Pub Street, then a traditional Apsara dance performance.

Pre-dawn transfer to Angkor Wat. Watch the sunrise light up the five towers, reflected in the lotus ponds. Explore the bas-reliefs and inner galleries, then continue to the Bayon temple, where 216 stone faces smile from every angle. Afternoon at the jungle-wrapped ruins of Ta Prohm.

Morning at the smaller temples, including Banteay Srei's intricate pink sandstone carvings and Preah Khan's atmospheric corridors. Afternoon countryside tour by ox-cart through rice paddies and stilted villages. Sunset drinks overlooking the moat at Angkor Thom.

Morning free for last-minute Siem Reap exploring or a spa session. Afternoon flight to Hanoi (via connection). Arrive in the evening and check into your Old Quarter hotel. Late dinner at a local pho spot on Bat Dan street.

Full day in the capital. Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh complex and the One Pillar Pagoda in the morning. Afternoon in the Old Quarter's 36 streets. Evening water-puppet show at Thang Long Theatre followed by a farewell Hanoi dinner at a colonial-era restaurant.

Morning transfer to Ha Long Bay (3.5 hours). Board your overnight junk and cruise between the karst pillars. Afternoon kayaking through hidden grottoes. Sunset squid-fishing from the deck, then a seafood feast under the stars.

Gentle start with stretching on the top deck, brunch and a bamboo-boat ride to a floating pearl farm. Disembark late morning and transfer back to Hanoi. Afternoon at leisure for final shopping or a spa visit. Last-night dinner at a rooftop restaurant on Ma May street.

A free day to revisit favourite spots or discover new ones, from the Train Street cafés, the Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural along the Red River dyke or a final round of egg coffee. Pack at your own pace.

Transfer to Noi Bai airport for your flight home. Fourteen days, two countries and a lifetime of memories. If you want to keep going, we can add Hoi An, Sapa or Phu Quoc.

Common Questions About Vietnam & Cambodia

Yes, Cambodia requires a visa on arrival ($30 per person, payable in USD). You'll need a passport photo and your passport must be valid for at least six months. We provide full instructions before you travel.

You travel by speedboat from Chau Doc (Vietnam) up the Mekong River to Phnom Penh (Cambodia). The border formalities are handled at a riverside checkpoint and your guide assists with paperwork. The boat ride takes about 4 hours and is a highlight in itself.

The Vietnam–Cambodia route is well-established and safe for tourists. Both countries welcome visitors, and you'll have local guides and a support team in each country. The Mekong crossing is a popular and scenic route.

US dollars are widely accepted alongside Cambodian riel. ATMs are common in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. We recommend carrying some small USD bills for tuk-tuks and market purchases.
