Land at Noi Bai and transfer to a boutique hotel near the lake. Take an evening cyclo ride through the Old Quarter's narrow streets, then dinner at a Vietnamese bistro overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake.
Morning transfer to Lao Cai by private car (5 hours through the highlands). Arrive in Sapa and settle into your hillside ecolodge. Afternoon walk through the town and terraces as the clouds roll across the Hoang Lien Son range.
Full-day trek through Muong Hoa Valley with a Black Hmong guide. Terraced paddies, bamboo bridges and hill-tribe villages. Lunch at a family farmhouse. Return to the ecolodge for a dip in the infinity pool.
Morning free for a final terrace walk or a spa session. Afternoon transfer back to Hanoi. Evening free in the Old Quarter to pick up last-minute gifts or enjoy one more round of street food.
Drive east to Ha Long Bay and board your overnight junk. Spend the afternoon kayaking between karst pillars and swimming in sheltered coves. Sunset dinner on the open deck with fresh Gulf of Tonkin seafood.
Morning on the bay with stretching on deck, brunch and a bamboo-boat visit to a floating pearl farm. Disembark at noon, transfer to Hanoi airport and fly to Hue. Check into your riverside hotel on the Perfume River.
Full day in the former imperial capital. Morning inside the Citadel, including the Forbidden Purple City, Thai Hoa Palace and the royal gardens. Afternoon at the tombs of Emperor Tu Duc and Emperor Khai Dinh. Dragon-boat cruise to Thien Mu Pagoda before a royal banquet dinner.
Drive over the legendary Hai Van Pass, with ocean-view switchbacks and a stop at the French fort on the summit. Descend through Da Nang and continue to Hoi An. Afternoon exploring the Ancient Town's lantern-lit streets, Japanese Bridge and tailor shops.
Morning cooking class at a riverside school. Pick herbs at Tra Que village, then prepare a four-course meal together. Afternoon free for An Bang Beach or more Old Town wandering. Evening boat ride on the Thu Bon River as the lanterns come alive.
A full day of rest. Read on An Bang Beach, book a couples' spa treatment or cycle through the coconut palms. Late afternoon basket-boat fishing. Farewell Hoi An dinner at a beachfront restaurant as the sun drops.
Morning flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City. Check into your District 1 hotel and spend the afternoon exploring the Reunification Palace, the Central Post Office and the buzz of the streets. Evening rooftop cocktails with skyline views.
Drive to the Mekong Delta and board a sampan. Cruise through palm-fringed canals, visit a floating market and share a home-cooked lunch with a local family. Overnight at a boutique riverside lodge, with a private dinner on the terrace and stargazing over the water.
Early morning boat ride through quiet backwater channels. Drive back to Saigon by midday. Afternoon free for shopping at Ben Thanh Market or a final spa visit. Multi-course farewell dinner with wine pairing at a fine-dining Vietnamese restaurant in District 1.
