"Every day felt like stepping further into Vietnam's history, from the ancient temples in Ninh Binh to the imperial tombs in Hue to the traders' town of Hoi An. We learned so much and still had time to relax on the beach. Truly special."

Common Questions About Heritage Trail

Five UNESCO-connected stops, including the Imperial Citadel of Hue, Hoi An Ancient Town, the Trang An Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh, the Temple of Literature in Hanoi and the Dong Van Karst Plateau connection at Ninh Binh. Each is explored with a knowledgeable local guide.

Completely. The itinerary mixes heritage visits with cooking classes, beach time, market browsing and scenic drives. The history is woven in naturally, and you'll pick it up without feeling lectured.

It's a mountain road carved into the cliffs between Hue and Da Nang with sweeping ocean views at every turn. Top Gear called it one of the best coastal roads in the world. Your driver handles the bends while you enjoy the scenery.

Most days involve 2-3 hours of gentle walking at heritage sites and markets. The Mua Cave climb in Ninh Binh (about 500 steps) is the most strenuous part, and it's optional. Overall the pace is relaxed.
